I ve been trying to get the dealer to fit me one but they say that it has been manufactured wrong . Does anybody have one fitted ? Ive seen the brace and they would seem to be right.

I've got one ordered for dealer fit to my new MCS which I expect delivery of late next week. Not heard of any issue (guess I won't until they try and fit it?)!

Its the way it fits to the top of the struts ,there is a bit fits round one of the bolts on the wrong side.My dealer had 2 ordered in & both were the same , they have emailed BMW with the pics .

Picked up my new MCS on Saturday ...with my specified JCW strutbrace installed, with no apparent issues (as Dealer-fitted, pre-delivery).

@ cco7ers: Did you get yours sorted/fitted in the end?

Hi Please can you tell me how the handling differs before and after brace fitted and are you on standard Cooper s suspension or Sports, also have you any photo's of your car as can't wait to get our new cooper s Chilli red thanks Derek

@mini-williams: Specified the brace at original order stage; cost was £165 I think?... I was not charged for fitting (being brand new/fitted pre-delivery by Dealer, guess they absorbed this cost?)... But I think the labour time is only half an hour max though.

@DerekH: I've got Sports Suspension, and per above comment the brace was fitted before I picked up car (so can't compare before). Also, it's too early to say (only got 200 miles on clock since picking up last Saturday). But, personally coming from recent previous cars such as BMW E46 M3 which have these kind of things as standard - ie braces, diffs, stiff suspension, etc. - then have to say already I'm well impressed with my Cooper S. Thanks for that very helpfull i currently have E90 330D Sport and suspension far to hard for Aberdeenshire roads my E46 330D Sport was not as hard as this. Our new car for me and my Wife is due May and we have left the cooper s Suspension as standard as not selected Chilli pack as was for a start looking at Cooper then made a big mistake test drove the cooper s and that was that and because we had just got the BM dec 06 wanted to keep the Mini price down so put Crown spokes side skirts when can get and spots and few changes inside JCW mats etc colour line.

Well after telling them that another dealer is fitting them , they finally admited they made a boob & mine is being fitted next Friday. So i will be going in quick to the corners now yeeeeeeeeeeeeeehaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

My friends at Official Racing Dynamics North American Site for BMW, MINI & Porsche performance parts and accessories are going to use my R56 MCS to build a nice carbon fibre strut brace. With the value of the dollar cheap, it will be reasonably priced. Watch for on their website soon.
