I have just been informed by my friendly and reliable dealer, that there is a new strut brace for the R56 MCS that is compatible with the phase 1 JCW tuning kit. The part number is 51.71.0.442.352 and cost given was £175 (fitting extra).

Will be ordering this for fitting in the next few weeks, if anyone has already had this fitted could you let me know if this was a good move or not...

I've no experience of it myself, but I think the general feeling on the forum is that its more for show than function.

agree with kev on this one my mate has one on his R56 looks the part but can you justify spending 200 quid on something which hardly anyone is going to see ?

For me, having reviewed life and the consumerism promises that consistently fail to deliver, it is not (for me) about what others see, it is about how I feel; this is related to the pleasure that I get from driving and any modification that enhances that is 'perhaps' worth the cost. Outward 'bling' is not for me, it's all about smiles-per-mile and pure enjoyment in the driving experience.

Hence the question for those that have made the decision to pay good money to have the strut brace fitted; their personal views are valuable and merit contemplation before I decide on parting with hard earned cash.

Having said this, all views are most welcome and I thank you for taking the time to reply...
