What do you do for a living? A bunch of us got together a few weeks ago, 18 in total I believe, however I didn't feel like we got to know anyone. So as I start, and I know this type of thread has appeared before, what do you do for a living? I wanted to post it to this forum to limit it to us Canadians. Perhaps when we get this club idea off the ground we can put up our own message forum.
Anyway's here's what I do:
I'm an Principal IT consultant for TELUS. I specialize in systems architecture and network security; one of my main skills is architecting very secure and scalable web serving solutions, solutions designed for millions of request. In fact I've designed and built several of Toronto's largest Internet providers (before I was with Telus) mail and web serving networks. For the computer literate out there one of these network is serving ~1.8 terabytes of data/day!
What about everyone else? I know we have a pilot or two around here.
