| The wiper motors failing are a reasonably common problem on the MINI. I don't know if there was a dodgy batch of motors or just that the motors weren't up to the job. They're put under a lot of strain at motorway speeds, due to how upright the screen is and the air trying to pull them off the screen. Luckily mine failed under the extended warranty.
TBH if you've had 5 years trouble free from your car then I'd take this on the chin like a man. There are a few other common problems you've avoided so far.
