Hi, no its necessary not and TBH with many GTT220s we dont need to remap (price is reduced) either, and this is not compromising anything .With GTT220 and above we take copys of the stock map so if the customer has other mods that warrant a remap in the future (eg cams) ,then we can prepare in advance and install in 10 minutes. We can take a copy of your map for you too if you like (no charge for this) .On most smaller pulley cars there is nothing to be gained from it except maybe a couple of BHP above 7000rpm achieved by raising the rev limit.- Something I'd advise against anyway .-Stock map is very adaptable MUCH more than even I would have believed a year or so ago.
