We have 2 cars; a Volvo XC90 and a Cooper S. The Volvo is the main "family" car, and the Cooper S is my local runabout/providing me with some B-road fun!

Anyroads, we have one toddler (just gone 2) and a new baby due any day now!

When moving to a Group 1 seat (9-16kg; 9months-4years), I wanted to go ISOFIX for peace of mind. But, even though ISOFIX points are pretty much standard these days, finding compatible seats is still pretty limited in UK. Choice seems to be:
  • Maxi-Cosi Priorifix
  • Bebe Confort Iseos
  • Britax Duo Plus
In the Volvo, I chose the Maxi-Cosi Priorifix and it is an excellent seat... very good build quality, and ease of fitting/use. This seat DOES fit in the Mini (I have used it a couple of times).... BUT the Priorifix comes with an extending forward leg which acts as the 3rd support (as well as 2 ISOFIX points)... this was a bit too inconvenient in the Mini, due to contortion when putting child in seat/2-door hatch. So, I wanted ISOFIX but with no forward support leg. This led me to the Bebe Confort and Britax Duo Plus, both of which are ISOFIX but with top-tethers (belts that attach to anchor points in boot floor). Quality wise, the Bebe Confort is better than the Britax (but is slightly more expensive, but £ not an issue for me when it comes to child safety). So I bought the Bebe Confort Iseos for use in our Cooper S...

Carseat Brand: Bebe Confort
Carseat Name: Iseos
Attachment method: ISOFIX, with top-tether fixing
Childs weight: 9kg - 18kg
Childs age: 9months - 4 years
Carseat weight range: Group 1, weight see above
MINI Type: R56 Cooper S
Body Type: hatch
MINI build date: March 2007
Interior trim: sport seats, part-leather

So far, the seat has performed well - I don't think it's quite as good as the Maxi Cosi Priorifix, but for one with no support leg it's the best I found.

Also, as I said the Maxi Cosi Priorifix also fits in Mini (with ISOFIX)...

Carseat Brand: Maxi Cosi
Carseat Name: Priorifix
Attachment method: ISOFIX, with forward extending leg support
Childs weight: 9kg - 18kg
Childs age: 9months - 4 years
Carseat weight range: Group 1, weight see above
MINI Type: R56 Cooper S
Body Type: hatch
MINI build date: March 2007
Interior trim: sport seats, part-leather
p.s. My 2 year old daughter loves being in Cooper S more than the Volvo!
