YC/A51 Route 2 - Kanc/Bear Notch to Gorham - Additional Info

Just wanted to touch base with everyone planning to take the Kanc/Bear Notch route to Gorham .

As the directions indicate we will be heading up Rt.93 with our first (only?) stop at Exit 32 in Lincoln. Muncie's Shell / Convenience store is located just as we exit, and this is a good opportunity to grab some gas, a quick snack or a beverage.

Rather than trying to all stay together at this point I'm proposing we do as we did last year and plan to meet up at the Loon parking lot about 1/2 hour after we exit Rt.93. The Loon lot is on the right-hand side about 2.5mi from the exit straight down Rt.112.

This 1/2 hour "free time" will serve a couple of purposes:

1. Parking is limited at Muncie's, and if we all try to jam their lot it will be quite a mess. If you need gas or something from the store please feel free to stop, but do not feel obligated to do so because you see others stopping

2. There are several other places along Rt.112 where you can grab something to eat, including the ever popular Kimberlee's Deli, and this free time will allow folks to grab a bite to eat at the place of their choosing, rather than having to "follow the pack".

MOT Tip-of-the-Day: Kimberlee's will take orders on Friday for pick up Saturday morning, so if you are looking for a sandwich/salad for lunch during the Saturday afternoon drives this is a very convenient (and popular!) option. It's not a bad idea to get your order in early!

Once we have reconvened at the Loon lot we'll have some time to eat/mingle/stretch before heading off to Gorham. We're not on a strict schedule so the day will ebb and flow based on the members of our particular group. Even with the brief stopover in Lincoln I think we will still make the 2.5-3 hour time as outlined in the directions.

If anyone has any questions please feel free to email/PM me. I'm also more than happy to provide my cell# to anyone that would like it...just ask and I'll get it to you.
