I have an October '02 built Cooper - with the Midland Gearbox
I was out today planning for a run I am putting together and noticed a strange ticking noise which has got worse. It only happens when in motion, is not revs related and GOES AWAY when in neutral.
The higher up the gear range I go, the worse it gets (5th gear doing 50MPH the ticking is unbearable) I have tried to take a video with my camera but the noise doesnt come out over the video.
Im just wondering what this could possibly be - gearbox or clutch? Or Both?
All of the other threads I searched for and read the noise was apparent when idle too, whereas mine isnt
Any help appreciated
