I am in the same boat as you guys, I have a 2003 MINI Cooper with almost 94,000. I had my 2nd gearbox changed at only 45,000 miles because of that same ticking noise you are hearing. NOW AT ALMOST 94,000 MILES I HAVE TO GET THE TRANNY REPLACED AGAIN!!!!!!! LETS SEE THIS WILL BE MY THIRD TRANNY, THIRD CLUTH , AND SECOND FLYWHEEL. WOW WHAT A FRICKIN GOOD SOLID CAR I GOT

It is sad that I saw somebody int the newspaper with a 1988 Honda Accord with well of 600,000 miles on it, with its original tranny and engine. BMW NEEDS TO BE ASAMED OF THEMSELVES!!
