Time and time again it amazes me that MINI dealers often get funny with loan/courtesy cars.

Are you taking it back to dealer you got it from?

I've not had the need for a Woodmans loan car yet but I really do expect (demand even!) that if anything happened I could have one for as short or as long a period as needs be! My own insurance helps though, in that I'm covered for cars loaned to me whilst mine is in for service/repair, but I wouldn't expect the dealer to ask any fee on top of that - especially if the car was in for warranty or recall work.

Some dealers are brilliant with a no hassle deal for courtesy cars. We've an aging Yaris, new from Harry Feeney Toyota in Blackpool, and even 7 years down the line there's absolutely no quibble that we can have a 'free' car for service work etc - even though the car is well out of warranty.
