I double checked with Tesco's again and now they seem to sing a different song. They say that BMW garages aren't approved repairers but they wouldn't object to people taking there car to one.

I then asked about hire cars in the event of a accident, because I had heard that unless you took it to their repairers then quite often they would not give you a hire car. The say that wouldn't be a problem. To be honest I didn't believe a word they said!!!!

The only way to be sure is to insure it via Mini Insurance.
