BUT

I would ask myself:

1. Is the seller an insurance company or if it is a private individual why are they selling?
2. Is the service history available?
3. Does it tell me what parts have been replaced and what work has been done after recovery?
4. Does this include labour? How long did the car take to fix?
5. What effect does being Category D have on resale in the future?
6. What would I pay if not Category D?
6. Am I happy with answers above?

Get it inspected by the AA / Third Party

Still happy?

Thanks for your replies, firstly I ony know some this cars history regarding the CATD, as the current owner bought it repaired.
The seller is a private individual, hes selling as he bought it for his girlfriend and now they have split up and he took the car back to sell on.
Its 2 years old with 9000 miles, the first service was carried out on Tuesday.
I am told there was no mechanical damage only panels, apparently the car was recovered with the panels missing as opposed to actual damage, along with the stereo and two front alloys.
I have no idea what effect CATD has on resale, hence my previous posts for advice.
If not CATD this car is worth £14000, however this would then be way out of my budget, as I have only £10k to spend.

As mentioned I am getting the mini inspected by autolign tomorrow, so they will tell me if the car is ok, as they are appointed by HPI LTD and are authorised to change the category from Conditon alert to conditon inspected.

What I am after is if £10k a good price for this car with this spec, as I have to hand over the cash tomorrow.

Thanks
Nick
