Laura, you are bang on right there!
Having made the change from a much loved 2004 Cooper to a 2007 registered R53 Cooper S they feel like completely different cars; believe me,
YOU WILL notice the difference!!
We loved the Cooper and it was really hard parting with her, but the R53S is in a whole different league and I'm completely nuts about it!
