Well looks like I have answered my own question, I had a look in the air box and it seems there isn't a panel filter from K&N out yet for my car.
It is a 57 plate Cooper (with the new stop start system) The filter is about 19.5" long and 3.5" wide it is round at one end and square at the other, guess I should of taken a photo of it now

If anyone knows of a panel filter for this model shout up.
