| Auto cross is not generally "high speed" - the standard layout in the NHIS parking has a max speed about 40mph. At the MINI of Peabody event last week, they sent an instructor out driving you round the track the first time, and you could ask to have an instructor in the passenger seat for future drives.
At the Herb Chambers MINI R56 unveiling, they had Skip Barber instructors driving you at more extreme speeds around an auto cross track - if they're doing that, I'd recommend using their car, not yours!
