For the vast majority of people who don't live within a 15 mile radius of Preston, 'Peg' is the local term (perhaps falling into disuse now) for one's female partner. Usually applied to 'the wife', but equally valid for a steady girlfriend.
For example - " I took our Peg out for a reet good slap up meal t'other neet"
A really deep Prestonian would perhaps refine this to "... R Peg..." and hence "Me N R Peg" (myself and my wife). Or perhaps "Me N R Peg went for a reet good slap up meal t'other neet, I took 'er to that new chippy on Fishergate like"
