I don't think you'll ever know the answer to that question.
As you say that was 10 years ago. But then again, they all said we had to run on unleaded for the environment etc, but now it has been proven that unleaded is just as bad, if not worse than leaded. More toxic during the first 15 minutes whilst the cat warms up than normal 4star was.
I use Optimax in my car, it's smoother, mid range punch has been noticably improved, it sound better to.
