Yes, 7's are great fun

I don't believe that Aussiemini even noticed that the steering wheel was pointing straight ahead as we drifted on throttle around my favourite local roundabout.

That's how brilliant they are.
It constantly amuses me in here how so many people are blinded by modern cars. There are older cars like the 7 which is a 40+yo design that can still whap the MINI.

I hear them talking about saving 200kg blah blah blah from their MINI, to try and turn it into a lightwieght racer, which it will never really be.
The problem is that we all have to
choose which cars we own at some point. I believe that thanks to the stay of the Caterham in our garage, the 7 (i think I'd rather the original) has usurped the type 14 Elite as the car that we will own next. However I
will own and treasure a Elite at some point in my life though.
For those unfamiliar, the Type 14 Elite was released on the world in 1957, and was the worlds first all composite moncoque car. It has significantly more advanced suspension the MINI, and is a hell of a lot slipprier than the MINI will ever be, having a drag co-efficient of .29 . To cruise at 100kph it requires only 30 hp

What's more, it only weighs 670kg, so even with it's measly 105 bhp output, it still has a similar power to weight ratio to the MINI cooper S.
