I use a TT910, which lives on the right side of the dash.

There is a sucker on the windscreen and the TT rests on a sticky pad so that there is no rubbing against the dash or side pillar. I very rarely remove the mount.

There is a nasty wire running behind the steering wheel down to the cigarette lighter.

Any time this irritates me I am soothed by the next warning of an approaching 'accident black spot', a facility I now regard as invaluable.

The nav is pretty good too.

I gave up on in car versions years ago - car makers don't publish their interface standards or make any commitments on frequency or accuracy of updates. Much better to sell you a new car when the nav is out of date I suppose.
