Yes u defo can, there talking bu!!$hit & trying to rip u off. I'm nearing the end of my 2nd set & searching myself. It was only after purchasing those that I searched the subject & then the garage I've used regular & I got my last set from recommended this time i consider changing to non-RF. I've never driven my mini without RF but can imagine it'll improve the ride & handling no end, so un-even country roads with divots & pot holes will be a pleasure to drive down!!

I've also found that I need to re-track my car far too often & I’m getting uneven inside tyre wear(both I’ve read about on forums), which i'm sure is a combination of the solid tyre walls not able to give any - which is made worse being low profile & having 2 drive around 30 r-a-b a day going 2 & from work (plus my tendencies to drive without caution)!

You may want to find a decent tyre garage(non BMW) that can offer VFM & advice as your going to be mixing non-RF with RF until they need replacing. If you do go for the non-RF option you just need to carry a tin of tyre weld or a space-saver wheel (there is a space under the car for it) should the unthinkable happen. And don’t forget the RF indicator will still work, so if you’ve a slow puncture where one of the lucky ones who’ll have a big bright indicator on the dash saying so!!

Use the power of the internet for a decent valued pair such as tyretraders.com & valuetyres.co.uk!
