Well I owe the service department a bit of credit. Yes, the wait time was still long, but I had both my MINI and my 3-series in for service this past week.

MINI - Repair clutch/throw out bearing, replace rear hatch struts, inspection.
Inspection found an oil leak from the valve cover gasket. Received a phone call by 1pm notifying me that the car would be kept overnight to order the gasket. All repairs completed on time, and picked the car up the next day. No issues with warranty, etc.

3-Series - Service was booked for the day after the MINI, but they allowed me to move this to Friday as I required at least one car. Brought the car in on Friday, all work was completed on time, and was kept well informed by the service advisor.

No issues whatsoever with the service this time around. It is a slight improvement at least. Even my phone calls were returned.
