Don't want to ose the PS2 games though, but then may aswell not trade in the PS2.

There is an 80Gb model being released in the New Year and the only reason for changing the 60Gb to 40Gb was so they could lower the retail price to compete with the Xbox 360 Elite in time for christmas!
The only PS3 that is backwards compatible with PS2 games is the 60Gb model!
These can still be found in some shops and there also being sold on ebay for around 600 quid haha
To keep production costs down on the new 40Gb model Sony removed a chip which played the PS2 games!
If the chip is to be fitted again in the new 80Gb model in the new year is anybodys guess.
