This theory worked in practice for me. Takes a little effort but not too difficult.
I put in a halogen 35W 796 ba15s bulb that's about twice as bright as the stock P21W bulb,
but not powerful enough to melt the housing or wiring or BC1.
You can't use these for the brake or fog or turn signal light, however, because they light up
a little slower than a standard bulb
