| Boot Release Problem
Hi,
Sorry if this has been asked before. I have found a couple of threads which have helped but still have a problem.
My girlfriend has had her Cooper S about 2 months, its a 2003/53 plate. Yesterday morning the boot release stopped working. (was wondering if anything to do with the icy weather?)
I found the release cord under the seat (from searching on here!) so we have managed to open the boot now. The lock mechanism looks ok and not rusty, and it will lock ok when you shut it.
The problem seems to be when you press the release button on the boot, literally nothing happens. Could it be an electrical problem? and is there anything else I can do/ check?
The car is out of warranty and we dont want to have to take it back to a dealer unless we really have no choice.
Any advice gratefully received?
