Exclamation Clutch serius problem Please Advise

Hello,

I have a 2004 MINI Cooper (Non-S)

Today, my clutch started acting as follows:
  • When you slightly push the clutch pedal, it vibrates (you can feel it with your foot)
  • When you pursh it even further (with windows open), at a certain location, you can hear a squeeqing noise)
  • Later at night, Burning smell inside and outside the car, clutch pedal started acting very different when switching gears
  • 4 min's after the smell, the clutch was completly disengaged, meaning: when I push, it goes 3/4 the way, a cut off, then continues further --> Shifter no longer change position (when clutch is fully pressed).
  • Since my MINI can only switch on when the clutch is fully pressed, this function is O.K.

Car is towed to nearest BMW dealership and will be looked at after two days due to the holidays (Happened this christmas eve, driving back home for nice family dinner, you can imagen how unlucky i was )

Any knowledge of what kind of problem am I expecting? can you also elaborate as why so?
