| Brakes Overheating at track I have an 05 Cooper S. I have used EBC Red Stuff, and Ferodo DS2500 pads so far on the car. I have stainless steel brake lines and I am using ATE Super Blue Racing Brake fluid.
Toward the end of a run group session on the track my brakes are getting soft even though I bleed them a few days before the time trials.
The front brakes seem to be getting too hot which is causing the issue. I am thinking about removing the Front Rotor Dust shield, because it looks like it does not really channel air to the rotors and might be trapping in the heat. I was wondering what everyone else is doing to help cool the brakes on the Mini at the track and if removing the OEM dust shield on the inside of the rotors would even help.
I would rather not do ducting if there was another option. I found one place that sells ducting that requires you to use the fog light holes but I would rather not make such a noticeable change to the car.
