Just read an article on someone with a new Honda Accord that siezed with about 12,000 miles on it. Honda hit him with the bill for a new engine, as he's never checked the oil level from new. He's expected it to run between services without a check, much like most company car drivers I know do!
Total bill: just over £7,000, reduced to just over £5,000 after a dispute. Still an expensive way to learn
