As "MINIAC" said it's a common problem on the earlier style seats which you have, if your car was still in warranty they (main dealers) would have changed the seat frames for you, as there is not much that can be done with the seats once they start to fail (even the newer style can fail in a similar way ), you'll need to change your seats or the seat frames (changing the frames is quite hard for a DIY'r to do , but not impossible).
