Apparently the S Spoke rim has a thicker beading compared to a normal wheel. Thats why its made for RF tyres. The people at my trusted tyre fitters wouldn't put non RFs on due to if the tyre came low on pressure the bead of the non RF could move around on the S Spoke rim. I get what they are saying and if you look at the inner rim and compare with a non RF wheel you can see the bead seat is alot bigger on the S Spoke.
HOWEVER, i've been running on non RFS for 18k and not (touch wood) had a problem. Even with low pressure (16psi) in all the tyres did they become unstable. |
