remapping should be no.1 on any 1st gen one owners mod list. my ecu was taken to watch the mini challenge by steve at robertshaw racing and came back brainwashed with a 2003 cooper challenge race map...the power kicks in at just over 3000rpm and its to the red line in a flash...the limiter makes you go for the next cog at 7300rpm... before remapping one's feel held back...you can tell they can give more if it wasn't for mr bmw dragging along the floor scraping fingernail marks in the road...even if you haven't got a lead foot a remap will still make your one more drivable. especially low down and at motorway speeds...gets rid of those flat spots that you don't really notice till you go snatching for a lower cog needing to get of a situation...
