 CLUBMAN: Roof and Bonnet Stripes
I have a Pure Silver Cooper Clubman on order for March 1st. With Pepper pack. Only thing I am not 100% happy about is the black roof (I hate black on cars). But I wanted it immediately and this car was in stock at the dealer: did not want to wait months for a new factory order.
Then looking through the accessory catalogue I thought I had the answer: contrasting stripes (the two parallel ones, are they called Vipers?), would break up the black roof with silver stripes, and of course black stripes on the silver bonnet.
They are listed as £49.99 each including VAT, say £100. But my dealer wanted to charge £250 to supply and fit!! (Reduced to £200 when I said it was too much).
Can they really charge £150 to attach some pieces of vynyl? If so I think I must be in the wrong business.
Question is: you can buy them on the Internet for much less (under £30). Described as genuine MINI decals. Has anyone tried to fit them themselves? Is it easy (I would not want to ruin the paint!!) Are there any specialists who can fit the decals for me at a reasonable price?  |
