Possible, but it could also be something as simple as a faulty / dirty ABS sensor .

This quote is from a post that I did for someone else, I don't want to worry you but it could be worth a look, in-fact click on (original) as the whole post could apply as both systems use the ABS system to work .

Over the years I have seen tape corrugated plastic (conduct) put on the edge of the bracket to try and prevent damage by Main Dealers as part of warranty work (sometimes without the owners knowledge) hence this fault also can't be ruled out and you need to make sure this isn't happening .
