Agree. Although maybe with the right offset. What wheels are you looking at? What's the offset? What tyre size are you running now? And what tyre size do you plan on using?

I run 18x7.5 with 215/35/18 tyres, this is generally accepted to be a good combination. In reality the tyres are too narrow to offer the rims any decent protection, and I have a flat spot. I am very surprised you are getting away with your current combination, even if the ride height on the 2nd gen is higher than the 1st gen. Can I just say that if you have a flat spot on your 18x8.5s, from a pothole or similar, surely this should suggest that going any bigger with lower profile tyres is a bad idea.

Oh and I agree with the rollerskate comment too, sorry.

You may get it to work, although I think it's a bad idea. But to get any proper informed anwers to your questions you need to give us some details on offsets etc. Good luck
