Out of interest I reset before my morning journey to work 6 miles mostly backstreets 1 short ( about a mile) 50mph dual carriageway and got 39mpg.

I would say 35 is about right overall but can do much better on motorway runs easily up into the 40s. I am saving loads on fuel though I have been filling up weekly out of convenience rather than nescessity and am only spending half what I was on the S.

Mini Cooper Clubman Petrol Regular Unleaded havent touched the performance stuff with this car at all.

That sounds like my kind of commute so this is most certainly appreciated ... i know this is Imperial Gallons though, but still impressive.

Also for the second time in the last week I hear of people using Regular gas in the MC's ... which I thought was a no-no ... but then a dealer confirmed that the new engines are ok with it.
Owners Manual still reccomends Premium but it does not say "don't use Regular"

If I remember correctly, this was not the case with the previous gen engines.

So Regular gas + great mpg's ... that would be like $1000 savings a year for me.
