BP Ultimate has the highest Cetane Number of any diesel available at UK pumps. (A guaranteed minimum of 55, compared with a typical 51 and the unspecified "Over 51" claimed by Shell for pump V-Power, but I assume they boost their race fuels by increasing the GTV content.)
The benefits of smoother and quieter running and less smoke seem well worth the cost in a car with typical MINI D economy, to me, without even taking any mpg gains into account as well.
