Exactly as above. You don't need to watch any TV programmes, it is common knowledge that your mums fears are fact. The insurance company will ask who the main driver is. If your mum answers that it will be her, (when it is in fact you), then the insurance will be void. If you have an accident you may both be liable for fraud and driving without insurance. If she tells them you are the main driver the price will be the same as if you insured the car yourself. Does your mum have another car/policy in her name? If so the insurance are unlikely to accept that she can be the main driver on two cars anyway, especially with you as a named driver. Give the insurance company some credit, they are not thick. Sorry for the negativity but the consequences of driving without insurance are huge, for you and any other parties involved in an accident. |
