theres the other major reason, Insurance companies will and do look at forums for details of mods and car use (shows, track days, illegal racing etc). I know of at least one majorly publicised instance where a guy whose car got destroyed by fire having his claim rejected because of alleged racing, evidence obtained by his insurers using websites and BB's. they had the wrong info/user and the incident wasn't contacted to anything than normal car use.

I try to blank the plates of any car I post a pic of just to be safe
