We shall certainly be carrying on running the R53S for as long as we can afford to do so.
The RFL will be expensive at £300 per annum, but the insurance and tax combined is only around £650 per annum and that's a lot less than many people are paying for insurance alone (how's that for a wierd justification?!

)
Simply by sticking the cruise control to the legal limit on A roads and motorways, I can easily get 36 - 38mpg out of the S on a long journey. A Cooper D or 118d might bring that figure up to 50mpg (with diesel costing 10% more than unleaded).
While I can understand the appeal of a Cooper D, would I change our R53S to one of the above for the relatively small % decrease in
overall running costs?
Erm.... no thanks!!
Tigger.
