i guess it must depend on how old your car is as i was talking of my buying experience at woodmans.
because our mini was over 3 years old they would not retail it, all they were doing was "selling it on" so we got what they got for it, i had been looking around for ages for the particular car they were selling so it was a case of biting the bullet and accepting the deal.
my brother went in recently to woodmans as it is local to where he works and they were exactly the same with him,he had a 53 plate high spec cooper s which he wanted to trade on a new clubman, because it was over 3 years old they would not retail it,only sell it on,as you can guess he walked away laughing his head off when they told him what they could offer him for it.
if you are trading a car less than 3 years old woodmans will retail it and you will get a far better price for it because they can make more money out of it,i do not understand why they operate this way because Williams Rochdale, Bowker Blackburn and David Holmes Stockport retail all ages of mini as long as it passes all the mini cherished checks so they can offer better part exchange prices.
