One of the major problems with our XP is that the seat and seat back are really deep. So much so that our daughter, 3, can easliy kick the back of the seats in our 'big' car. Meaning you have to bring the front passenger seat forward to give her leg room and to try and avoid getting footprints all over the back of the seat.

As she sits behind the passenger seat, I don't like being a passenger as I can't get the chair back as far as I'd like - and that's in a 5-series! Is the Tobi any less 'deep'?

That's one of the reasons I like the look of the Jane Indy Plus. However, looking at the 'what car seat fits' thread again, it does look like though the seat is slimmer, the ISOFIX Fixings push the base way out and it may still be a problem with room behind passenger seat.

I think we're going to try our current seat (but I'm going to kneel in it when I fix it to get a better fit) and then look at what else is available when we have the time.

It's hard to say as it was only tried in the car briefly when I was at Mothercare. I sat my little one in it and even at his age (9months) his feet were close to the front seat when in recline - would have to move seat forward more. I didn't expect anything less though as space is limited and put it down to one of the things you have to live with when you have kids and minis!
Maybe compare them side by side in Mothercare or similar?
My car is non Isofix, not heard of the Jane Indy Plus. Let me know how you get on as I won't be buying one for a month or so.
