Glad that Adam was unhurt, the MINI did its job again, good luck with the insurance, don't mention the DSC.

Sad as it is to hear of this accident I am disappointed at the general acceptance that the cyclist was to blame when there is insufficient detail in the original post to determine this.

As a long time cyclist as well as MINI driver I have often been forced off the road by cars flying through intersections, none of the cars ever stopped to pick me up off the road. Cyclists do some very stupid things on the road but they are much more vulnerable than car drivers in a collision.

As for cyclists bouncing of footpaths in front of Swamos, yes I have seen this happen. These cyclists are brain damaged and their removal from the gene pool will only be of help in the long run. And statistics show that in general the police blame the cyclist because like the majority of the population the police see bikes as toys not road vehicles.
