i'm gonna have to try if this works on my car, sounds potentially dnagerous. i know for sure i can't lock my car using the fob while the driver's door is open. i can however lock the car using the fob while the passenger door or boot is open. when either is closed then the car locks fully.

in your situation you could end up opening your door, locking the car with button, putting your key in your purse, leave it on the passenger seat, get out and close your door. et voila, key's locked in.
