Picked it up from Allied Vehicles in Glasgow on Thursday - the rear bumper is not secure because they haven't been able to get the parts yet (had it for a month!), the paintwork hasn't been repaired and the exhaust has just been bent back into place....except it's not in the right place, it's off-centre and pointing down and to the left, and it rattles.

Trying to arrange for it to go back in but with exception of someone called Lorraine, the staff haven't been exactly helpful.

Mrstirs, who are you insured with? If you're not happy with the work being carried out at the current place, then perhaps you could discuss with your insurers about transferring it to another bodyshop?

When I was with MINICOVER and had someone go into the back of me (their fault, I was stationary), I was able to get it fixed at Douglas Park's (BMW) bodyshop in Hillington. I'm not sure if their franchise is the best place to go for servicing (expensive and more BMW-oriented than MINI), but for bodyshop work, they did pretty well.

I inspected their repairs, and there was a minor issue with the heat shield by the exhaust that was listed (and billed to the other party's insurers) as having been fitted with a new component - but they'd merely bent the old one back into place. When I pointed this out, one of their managers immediately had it changed for a new one whilst I went for a cup of coffee. They put it down to the mechanic getting confused for a moment and were apologetic. When I accepted delivery of the final job later on, I was happy to see it had been put right again.

Let me know how you get on.

All the best,
Andrew.
