Like the rest of you i was not liking the 35 profile and so spent ages looking for 40 profiles. I can tell you there are not many available on the market.
My
JCW R105 black are now wrapped in 205/40/18 Michelin pilot sport 2


They are nice and grippy in the dry and wet, so no complaints there.
I have just completed about 10,000 miles in them...the fronts are quite worn 4mm left, but then i do work the fronts quite hard. The rears are like new still.
I would think you could get more miles out of them if driven more conservatively...hehe
