I'm sorry to tell you this mate, but they don't really get any better. They seem to chew fuel when in stop-start traffic. In our very stop start traffic we have been averaging 11+ However in the same conditions our v6 vienta does 16

Mine is excellent on the highway. As long as your driving containes some highway stuff, the averages don't seem too bad.

The clio is a lot lights (because it's made of plastic), and has a high comp N/A motor. When stopping and starting such a heavy car as the mini, the blown engine is bad. Because of the lower compression, and off boost scenario you have to use more throttle.
