| GP with R56 JCW Sports Brakes JCW R56 Sports Brakes on an R53 GP This will be fitted on Wednesday to GP #0881 along with John Cooper Motorsport Mini Challenge rear grooved discs with Mintex 1144 pads, JCM front brake vents fitted to GP fake air vents, Braided Hoses and race fluid. All work being done by Tony Franks at MINIMOTORSPORTCENTRE. Kit part number 34 11 0 428 914 Consisting of 2 x Drilled and slotted front discs – 34 11 6 777 826 – these are not handed. Calliper complete with pads LH – 34 11 6 779 003 Calliper complete with pads RH – 34 11 6 779 004 Installing Info / warning booklet – 0397293 Label – 1 29 0 397 302 Installing instruction – 1 29 0 397 588 The kit has bigger pistons than standard R53 JCW and R56 standard brakes – I will measure them during the installation process and report here the difference The kit comes with the following info booklet Please note the following safety instructions · The following MINI wheels / dimensions CANNOT be fitted in conjunction with the John Cooper Sport Brakes · 15 inch steel wheels · 16 Inch steel wheels · Original MINI 16 inch alloy wheel (6.5J x 16 IS48) with Part number 36 11 1 512 348 / 349 (styling R83 silver / white) Part number 36 11 1 512 350 / 351 (styling R84 silver / white) Part number 36 11 6 755 811 (styling R88 silver) Part number 36 11 6 759 988 (styling R90 silver) Part number 36 11 6 763 297 / 298 (styling R92 silver / white) The spare wheel may only be used on the rear axle. MINIs built up to 11/06 need John Cooper Works Brake pads for the Front and Rear Axles. Minis built after 11/06 need John Cooper Works Brake pads for the Front Axles. Some pictures of the kit – more pictures during the fitting process tomorrow. Note 1 Chris at Woodmans is running a special on these. Mine were not sourced via Chris but you will be hard pressed to find a better deal than what Chris has them on offer at. Note 2 The original JCW set up has been sold – I am sure that there may well be a simultaneous post from a fellow MINI 2er. Who has just returned to the fold.
