Allow me to give you the benefit of my vast experience with MINI runs (comprising solely of the Yorkshire Dales 2007 Run ):
  1. ONEs: go right to the front.
  2. Coopers: can go in the middle.
  3. MCSs: would cope well near the back.
  4. GPs or modded MCSs: should go right to the back.
As, when the front cars set off, this creates a sort of sling-shot effect moving down the line with each car getting left a little further behind before they can get on the throttle. Thus, in order to keep up at the back, you need to either be in a very fast car or be a very good driver - neither of which are categories I fall into.

So if you're anything like me, try to grab a spot as close as possible to the run leader.
