The dealers are just so expensive that you're never going to recoup the cost of the overpriced service in the value of the car upon resale. An Inspection II service with a BMW dealer costs £320... conveniently, this is the first service you have to pay for yourself when your TLC expires.

Absolutely every car should have a full service history (stamped by whomever you trust to do it), but it doesn't need to be a full BMW service history.
