Howdy MOT Participants --
Less than a week to go before MOT 2008!

We'd like to remind you to take a few minutes and review the MOT 2008 Rides Overview that as included in your registration packet.
There are three different group rides leaving from Loon Mountain parking lot on Saturday morning. All of them take you towards your destination for the afternoon and evening events -- the Mt. Washington Auto Road. The rides are optional, of course, but if you don't have any other plans, jump in.
We will make every attempt to organize parking at Loon so we can coordinate ride departures when the time comes -- we know everyone doing the rides will enjoy them more if they're with as many MINIs as possible. You can do your part by reading the descriptions and selecting your ride before you arrive at Loon. But if you can't decide before then, that's okay -- we'll help you out. Also, if you're joining in at the Friday night soiree at the Town & Country, ask around -- the veterans are always ready to offer advice.
A few hints about choosing a ride...
If this is your first MINIs On Top, we strongly recommend the Kancamagus Highway Ride. It's a great road through a beautiful area.
If you're looking for an alternative, you can pick between the spectacular Franconia Notch via I93 or the scenic backroads through the towns of Franconia and Bethlehem. Both rides take you through Crawford Notch on Rt. 302, with some excellent choices for a picnic lunch at the Willey House.
Speaking of lunch, remember to stop in Lincoln on your way in to Loon on Saturday morning and pick up your picnic. That's also a good time to fill your MINIs tank, so you're ready for the rest of the day.
Finally, when you get to the Loon Lot, the kids from the Lin-Wood Regional High School will be running a car wash. It's a great chance to support the local community and get the dust off your MINI before the ride.
See you on Saturday!
