ITG doesn't need cleaned that often but I've only had mine for 3-4k miles. Take the lid of and take out flap mechanism which leaves a hole ontop of the box at the back. Take the motor like thing out with vacuum pipes (can't remember the exact name of it begins with 'a').

I remember posting instructions on how to fit it when replacing stock airbox! I'll post them once I find it
